Version 1.0 launched on 9 September 2026 after more than five years in Early Access.

Story setup

The premise, without filling in the blanks.

Fallen warriors are carried to Valheim, a procedurally generated tenth Norse world. To earn passage to Valhalla, players explore its biomes, build shelters, craft equipment and defeat the forsaken enemies of Odin.

01

Eight distinct biomes

A procedural world connects forests, swamps, mountains, oceans and late-game regions, culminating in the Deep North.

02

Build for survival

Structural integrity, ventilation, crafting tiers and raids turn longhouses and settlements into functional progression.

03

Preparation-driven combat

Food, rested bonuses, armour, weapons, parries and boss rewards matter as much as reflexes.

04

New in 1.0

Deep North arrives alongside upgradeable pockets, achievements, new equipment and building pieces. Read the launch notes for the full list and spoilers.
