Quick answer

The current documented sweet spots are SV-98 at 54-75m, M2010 ESR at 75-100m, PSR at 90-120m and L115 at 100-133m. Mini Scout has no sweet spot. Ping before firing to judge distance, watch for rainbow-tinted sniper glint when facing an enemy sweet spot, and remember that increased drag and lower muzzle velocity make target lead more important at long range.

How this was checked

Sweet spot values are copied from EA's June 2026 Battlefield Combat article and Game Update 1.3.3.0. The Interdictor is labelled event-dependent because EA's Season 4 guide does not make it a permanent default unlock.

How this page was made

I chose the topic, scope and source list, and I am responsible for publishing corrections. Automation and AI can help with research sorting, first-draft structure and repetitive formatting. Facts, prices and claims must still trace back to the sources shown on the page. This is not labelled as a hands-on product review.

Closer overwatch SV-98 · 54-75m

Shorter band and easier access to objective-adjacent cover.

Balanced range M2010 · 75-100m

A practical medium-long band for many objective sightlines.

Deep lanes PSR or L115

Use deliberate lead, protected cover and frequent repositioning.

How to know you are in the band

Ping the target or nearby cover before committing. EA says proper pinging reveals whether a target is inside your rifle's sweet spot. That is faster and more reliable than guessing from character size.

When you face a sniper, rainbow-tinted glint means you are inside that sniper's sweet spot. Break the sightline, change elevation or force the sniper to reacquire rather than taking a stationary duel on their preferred terms.

  • Measure before the first shot, not after the target has moved.
  • Choose cover that lets you move five to ten metres and create a new angle.
  • Do not tunnel on one target while vehicles, drones or flanks expose your position.
  • Use the rifle's range band to choose the position; do not choose an unsafe position merely to hit the band.

Lead more after Update 1.3.3.0

EA increased bullet drag across weapons and reduced muzzle velocity for most primary weapons. The goal was to make longer-range fights require more lead against moving targets. Past roughly 150 metres, velocity loss and drop become more significant.

Use a repeatable reference: begin with a small lead on a walking target, observe the impact or miss direction, then correct. Do not flick to a new guess every shot. Match Grade ammunition also received more drag in the documented update, so read the current in-game tradeoff rather than assuming its name guarantees the flattest long-range result.

A better long-range firing rhythm

Settle the sight, confirm distance, choose upper chest or head, fire, observe and move. A missed shot still gives information about lead and drop; firing the next round before reading it wastes that information.

After one or two shots, change a few metres of position or use a different edge of cover. Battlefield sightlines attract counter-snipers, vehicles and players who saw the glint.

FAQ

What is the SV-98 sweet spot in Battlefield 6?

EA's current documented sweet spot for the SV-98 is 54-75 metres.

Does Mini Scout have a sweet spot?

No. EA explicitly lists Mini Scout without a sweet spot; it is designed around mobility and faster follow-up shots.

EA says rainbow-tinted sniper glint means you are currently within that enemy sniper rifle's sweet spot range.

Is the Interdictor available now?

EA lists it as available during a Season 4 event and describes a 120-150m lethality peak. Check the current in-game event and latest official patch notes before treating it as unlocked.

Sources and methodology

I use official game documentation and patch notes first, then clearly identified community tools when they add something useful. This is source-backed guidance, not a claim that I personally tested every weapon, map or patch.
